Indian Scout
Daytona

 Jimmy Hill Collection

The Jimmy Hill Collection of original Indian factory photographs and artwork will be sold at the J. Wood and Company Daytona Auction  on Saturday, March 11th, at 2:00 p.m.

There are over 90 original photographs that include scenes of Indian Motorcycles racing, dealerships and displays, women motorcyclists, police and war photos. Many with movie stars including Jane Russell, Alan Ladd and others. Most of these photographs were used by the advertising department and cover a wide range of years.

There are about 20 artist’s renderings (advertising masters) of Indian Motorcycles from 1901 to 1930. These renderings are said to have been airbrushed over photographs to produce the excellent detail needed for advertising. They are beautiful to look at and very rare pieces of motorcycling’s history.
