406 Somers Road
Route 83, Ellington, CT 06029 Dee
and I want to thank all of you that turned out for Frank's retirement
auction. As many of you know, Frank is recovering from the stroke that
he suffered last August. Thanks to you, the auction was a huge success.
Frank and his wife, Marge were not only happy with the auction results,
they had a great time meeting old friends. Frank really enjoyed talking
with all the folks that stopped by to chat. The priced that we
received reflected the quality of Frank's work on the British bikes.
They were not matching number museum pieces, but very well built bikes
to ride. They were assembled by a man with almost 50 years of Triumph
experience and were some of the nicest running bikes that we have come
across. The man that bought the 53 6T rode the bike to the Auburn meet
the next day and told me that the bike rode perfect in every way.
Here are the prices received on the British bikes:
1953 Triumph 6T $9,500
1968 Triumph Bonneville $8,000
1966 Triumph TR6C $6,400
1963 Velocette Venom $8,500
1972 BSA Thunderbolt $2,700
1963 BSA C15S $2,200
