IDAHO UPDATE!
We are
here working on the site and now can see what was in all
of those trailers. There is a massive amount of parts
here; I would estimate almost 1,000 pallets of parts.
There is a lot from the Cycle Hub collection and it
looks like he disassembled hundreds of British bikes for
parts. It will be a true treasure hunt, as we have found
many NOS parts mixed in the boxes with used parts. I had
a NOS T140 Crank hit me on the foot and I found four
more.
We
found more motorcycles as well: a line of Japanese
machines including Yamaha Trials, Honda Trail 70 500
Interceptor and others, More Cubs and Matchless
including a G12 project with a new rebuilt engine. We
have over 90 motorcycles now. We have about 300' of
pallets of parts for Japanese bikes as well. We also
have a significant amount of Harley Aermacchi parts.
Some are for Sprint and a bunch of two- stroke including
several pallets of engines.
We
found many more Triumph Cubs and parts. I have complete,
semi complete, and rolling projects from plunger frame
models to Mountain Cubs. In addition we have more Cub
parts than I have ever seen! Whole pallets of engines,
cases, frames, tanks. and more. The amount of parts is
incredible; I hope that many of you will make it out
here to take this stuff away!
We
have hundreds of NOS Dunlop and Avon tires: K70, K81
Trials, knobbies and universal.
Shipping and storage. Unfortunately, Phil Read called
and has problems with his truck and won't make it. We do
have Wayne Rantz from Rantz Cycle Transport coming and
Dan from D&K may be able to help, call him at
973-534-7823. Allied can pick bikes up, we will have
contact information for you. Anyone else with space to
ship just let me know and I will introduce you. We have
arranged for secured, inside storage with the property
owner at a very reasonable rate for extended storage for
pick-up later if you need it.
Parking: The parking area will be tight for trailers.
When you turn onto the Tammany Creek Rd, watch for the
rodeo on you’re right, you can drop your trailers there,
and drive up to the auction site.
Come
early for a long look, we will be open all day on
Thursday for registration and inspection.

Auctioneer's Note:
When I visited this collection in Idaho,
I found an unbelievable treasure trove of British bike parts and
accessories along with more than 80 motorcycles! (We keep finding more.)
The bikes are in all conditions from good complete machines that just
need a good cleaning to rolling basket cases. I think that we have about
20 Triumph Cub rolling basket cases alone. The sheer amount of the parts
and accessories was sensory overload. There were four buildings full,
some organized and some with big piles. In addition, there are six 40 to
50 foot trailers that are packed from the floor to the ceiling with
brand new and used parts.
We have people out there now unpacking
those trailers and we will be adding photos and lists to our web site as
the stuff gets into the daylight. This inventory was purchased from
distributors, dealers and collectors over the years. Some of it has
never been unpacked since it was loaded in. Just as an example, I found
lots of hard to find items like racks full of new British Dunlop K70's
in the good sizes, as well as the K81, trials universal and other tires
for those correct restorations. There is also a room full of used
Aermacchi parts and a fair amount of Japanese parts. In addition to the
Triumph, Norton, and BSA parts, I found a
significant amount of Matchless and AJS parts. There are lots of rare
used parts and I mean barn
loads.
Folks, there is a lot of good stuff here
and I do hope that many of you will come out to buy the inventory and
make good use of it. The airport (LWS) is only about 4 miles away and
has national service from Delta and Alaska Airlines. Phil Reid
(207-233-2024) will have his 46-foot trailer on site and will be able to
haul bikes and parts to the East Coast. We will have extended pickup
time available for you if you need to send for more trucks or make
multiple loads. Idaho is beautiful, make a vacation out of it and join
the treasure hunt.
If you need to make money, you need to
get in your truck or make those plane reservations to get to Idaho and
get this stuff; there is plenty for everybody. The real estate is being
sold and all of these parts and bikes have to be sold to the highest
bidder. A lot of the parts will be sold by the pallet-load, similar to
Buffalo, NY last year, but a lot more of it. Please feel free to email
(jwoodandco@comcast.net) or call for more information if you need it.
Dee and I will be lotting and tagging the
week before the auction and will have catalogs available for the
inspection day. We hope to see you there!
